Corporate social investment philosophy

Our company is concerned with sustainable development, environmental protection, and social and economic issues. We are not just focusing on making profit but are equally concerned about our people and the planet. Our corporate social investment (CSI) strategy as a media organization leverages on our technological and innovation capability to connect people while giving them a voice to participate in development on their own terms. Fifteen per cent of our annual budget will be committed to CSI activities targeting development of communities and skills development.

URK Foundation

The URK Foundation has a 100 per cent stake in the United Royal Kingships Holdings and is the vehicle through which traditional leaders and their communities participate in the

economy. Apart from the objective of creating value, a secondary responsibility for BMG is to assist directly in the generation of social returns. Our goal is to have increased visibility in the communities which we serve. A secondary responsibility is to assist more directly in the generation of social returns. Through our strategic partnership with URK Foundation, we seek to accomplish this through focused CSI predicated on annually-funded CSI programmes as well as by attracting strategic partners to bring funding and skills that will have an impact on our programmes and be aligned with our focus areas in the rural communities. BMG believes in harnessing the use of CSI, and its objectives which will contribute towards the social and economic development of over 21 million citizens resident in the rural communities.
